Mid-West Regional Planning Guidelines 2004-2016

The Regional Planning Guidelines for the Mid-West Region were adopted by the Regional Authority in May 2004. The Guidelines provide a development framework for the region to the year 2016.

The RPG’s set out the regional development strategy and RPG’s for the Mid-West Region of Clare, Limerick City and County and North Tipperary, within the framework of the government’s National Spatial Strategy and other national, regional and local strategies.

Over the next 20 years the people, organisations and communities of the Mid-West wish to create a region of world-class excellence for working, learning, leisure and living.  The key mechanisms that need to be activated to achieve this are the creation of a vision, the provision of connectivity, of world class places and products and of support for enterprise enablers, all within the context of balance and sustainablitiy.
