Introduction
At the September 2010 Monthly Meeting of the Regional Authority, the Mid-West Regional Planning Guidelines 2010-2022 were adopted and they are now available for public viewing.

Public Notice

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 24(7) of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, that the Mid-West Regional Authority has on 1st September 2010, made Regional Planning Guidelines 2010-2022 for the Mid-West Region, under Section 24(6) of the Act.

The new Guidelines replace the 2004-2016 Regional Planning Guidelines for the Mid-West Region.  The Guidelines provide a planning framework for the future physical, economic and social development of the Mid-West Region.

 

Notice is also given, under Article 15G of the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004, that a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) final Environmental Report has been prepared.  The SEA Statement outlines the assessment process and the iterative development of the Guidelines in context with environmental issues.

 

As the competent Authority, the Mid-West Regional Authority also gives notice of the determination under the Planning and Development Acts, that the Guidelines will not adversely affect the integrity of a European site.  Copy of this determination and Habitats Report are available on www.mwra.ie or at the Offices of the Regional Authority, Friar Court, Abbey Street, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

 

The Regional Planning Guidelines, SEA Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment (Appropriate Assessment) are available for inspection at the offices of the Mid-West Regional Authority and at the planning departments of all local authorities in the Region or can be purchased from the Mid-West Regional Authority for the sum of €50.00, the documents can also be downloaded from the www.mwra.ie website.
