At the December 2009 Monthly Meeting of the Regional Authority, the Draft Regional Planning Guidelines 2010-2022 were adopted and are now available for public viewing.

***PUBLIC NOTICE***

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 24 (4) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 and in accordance with the Strategic Environmental Assessment Regulations 2004 that the Mid West Regional Authority intends to make regional planning guidelines and has prepared Draft Regional Planning Guidelines, an Environmental Report and a Habitats Directive Assessment for the administrative areas of Clare County Council, Limerick City Council, Limerick County Council and North Tipperary County Council. 

The Draft Guidelines provide a Strategic Planning Framework for the future physical, economic and social development of the Mid-West Region and shall in accordance with the Act, be incorporated into the City and County Development Plans by the respective Local Authorities.  The Guidelines are a Review of the Regional Planning Guidelines 2004-2016 and are being prepared for the 12-year period 2010-2022.

Public Authorities, Community Organisations, Public and Private Agencies and the public generally are invited to make submissions regarding the Draft Regional Planning Guidelines, Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment.

The Draft Regional Planning Guidelines, Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment will be on public display from 16th December 2009 to 1st March 2010 (both days inclusive) 10 weeks and a copy may be inspected at the following locations:

The offices of the Mid-West Regional Authority, Friar Court, Abbey Street, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and the Planning Department of Clare County Council, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare; Limerick City Council, City Hall, Limerick; Limerick County Council, County Building, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick; and North Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary between the hours of 10.00am and 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm Monday to Friday (except on such days as the Offices may be closed for public holidays).

Written submissions or observations with respect to the Draft Guidelines, the Environmental Report and the Habitats Directive Assessment made within the stated period will be taken into consideration before the Guidelines are adopted.

The closing date for receipt of submissions is 5.00pm on Monday March 1st, 2010.

The Draft Guidelines, Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment may also be viewed on the Regional Authority website: www.mwra.ie. If required a hard copy of the Draft Guidelines, Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment can be obtained from the Mid-West Regional Authority at a cost of €30.00, respectively.

Please note that only written submissions or observations received by 5.00pm on March 1st, 2010 will be considered before the Guidelines are adopted.  Submissions will be accepted only as outlined above.
