The Mid-West Regional Authority (MWRA) operates under the aegis of the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government. The MWRA works closely with a number of local and public agencies/authorities to ensure coordinated development and promotion of the Mid-West Region.

North Tipperary County Council
North Tipperary County Council provides a wide range of local public services for the administrative area of North Tipperary. Shannon Development
Shannon Development is a government owned regional development company dedicated to promoting and developing the Shannon Region of Ireland. They are based in Shannon, Co Clare with regional offices in Clare, North Kerry, Limerick, South Offaly and North Tipperary. Shannon Airport is the gateway to the West of Ireland and is one of the fastest growing airports in Europe. Mid-West County/City Development Boards
County and City Develoment Boards provide a forum where all relevant interests come together to plan for the future of their respective County/City areas. The Boards brings together representatives from local government, local development organisations, social partners (including the community and voluntary sector) and state agencies active at local level.

Shannon Regional Fisheries Board

Limerick Institute of Technology
Limerick Institute of Technology operates under a Governing Body established under the Institutes of Technology Acts 1992 to 2006. The Institute, however, traces its origins back to 1852 when the Athenaeum Society started a School Of Arts and Fine Crafts in Limerick. In 2002/3 they celebrated 150 years of service. LIT - Tipperary (formerly the Tipperary Institute) is a dynamic higher education, development and research centre. University of Limerick
University of Limerick was established by the State in 1972 as The National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick. Full university powers were granted by legislation enacted by the Irish Parliament in 1989. It is the first new University established since the foundation of the State. The University is located on a riverside campus at the heart of the 600 acre National Technological Park at Plassey, three miles above the ancient city of Limerick. S&E Regional Assembly was established in 1999 following the designation of Ireland into 2 regions for the purposes of EU Funding. They are located at Assembly House, O'Connell Street, Waterford. Border Midlands & Western Regional Assembly
BMW Regional Assembly was one of two Regional Assemblies established in 1999 by the Irish Government to give effect to the division of the country into two regions for Structural Funds purposes. The Headquarters of the Border, Midland and Western Regional Assembly is located in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. Irish Regions Office
Irish Regions Office (IRO) was established in 2000, with the support of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, as a Brussels based resource for the Irish members of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) and their regional authorities. The activities of the office have since been expanded through a collaboration of the Association of the Irish Regions (AIR) and local authority managers to provide a wider range of services to Irish local and regional authorities.
