Here are a list of previous EU Projects the Mid-West Regional Authority has participated since 1999.

Citizen First Project

The main aim of the CitizenFirst Project was to empower citizen interaction by improving public services delivery in the Information Society.  The Mid-West Regional Authority were Lead Partner in the CitizenFirst Project.

Shannon Information Society Regional Partnership Programme (ShIPP)

The ShIPP Strategy and Action Plan provides a coherent approach for all agencies, organisations, companies and users in the Shannon Region to proactively guide and direct the Information Society, so that it will make a distinctive and innovative contribution to increasing growth potential and maximising good quality sustainable employment and improving the quality of life in the Region.

Shannon Regional Innovation Strategy (SRIS)

SRIS is an ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Measure 10 Regional Innovation Strategy (RIS) project that ran parallel to ShIPP, with a similar Steering Committee/Management Unit methodology, but focused on innovation in the Shannon Region.

Analysis of Spatial Planning and Emerging Communications Technologies (ASPECT)

ASPECT is a project that investigates the actual and potential impacts of ICT based applications on spatial planning and development.

Tactical Integration of Telematics Applications Across Intelligent Networks (TITAN)

TITAN is a project in the EU Integrated Applications Digital Sites (IADS) programme that aims to integrate and provide personalised Internet access to public services in the Regions of Ireland, Scotland, Italy and Norway. The Irish Region includes the Mid-West and South-West Regions.

INTERREG IIC & IIIB

INTERREG is a EU initiative, which aims to transcend national boundaries by fostering joint cross-border or transnational projects to develop border regions for the creation of a more integrated development of the EU territory as a whole. The Interreg III initiative is the latest strand and follows on the Interreg I (1990-1993) and II (1994-1999) Initiatives.

EMPLOY

EMPLOY (New Employment through Innovative Tools and Services for an Efficient/Effective European Structural Funds Management) is about developing innovative, multimedia and integrated Tools and Services designed to support the Management of the European Structural Funds (ESF) process, involving Local, Regional, National and EU Administrations as well as SMEs and citizens as the final recipients.

Housing Markets and Sustainable Urban Development

This EU project examined the Housing Market of five diverse European Regions. The objectives of the study were to develop a model of local housing markets. This model could be used to predict future housing demand and make best use of existing buildings or land which is already zoned for building purposes (brownfield sites). In turn the model could help in protecting land from development (Greenfield sites).

RUSTRAT: ECOS-Ouverture Programme

One of the first EU Initiatives the MWRA participated in.  The aim of this project was to support the development of Regional Policy in Russia through the transfer of specialist expertise on economic development strategy from Western Regions to two specific Russian Regions.

Promoting European Regional and Local Sustainability in the Digital Economy (PRELUDE)

The PRELUDE Project is a European Project funded by the Information Society Technologies 5th Framework Programme. 

RuralTech - Promoting the Information Society in Rural Areas of the Atlantic Area

RuralTech is a European Project funded by the INTERREG IIIB Atlantic Area Programme from January 2004 to December 2005.
