Trap Project

 

 

First Interregional Meeting to held in Bucharest, Romania from 28th to 29th March 2012.

This two day event included a half day international conference to present the TRAP project to project partners and relevent stakeholders. Presentations included an outline of the Water Framework Directive, the European Landscape Convention, as well as best practice presentations from TRAP project partners.

This was be followed by a half day technical meeting of TRAP project partners, to discuss practical modalities (the project partnership agreement, finance & reporting mechanisms) as well as a more detailed discussion on the specific project work packages.

Finally, on 29th March project partners participated in a study visit on the Arges River, in Mihailesti (45km from Bucharest).

The next project partner meeting will take place in Groningen, the Netherlands from 27th to 28th June 2012.

TRAP - Territories of Rivers Action Plans - a new EU project approved by the E.U. Interreg IVC Programme

The Mid-West Regional Authority, along with the South-West Regional Authority and Shannon Development, are partners in the project which will be launched in early 2012. Other partners in the TRAP project are from Finland, the UK, Romania, Latvia, Slovenia, Greece and the Netherlands.
