The Mid West Regional Authority has the statutory function to coordinate between the local, public and voluntary bodies in the Mid-West region.

Established by the Minister for Environment in 1994 under the Local Government Act 2001 (Establishment Order 1993) the Regional Authority works closely with numerous Associated Bodies locally, regionally and nationally.
